Description
Billed by the manufacturer as the largest single engined aircraft in the world the A T 820F FireBoss is yet another gas turbine job from my list. Batting along the surface of a lake or calm surfaced sea the FireBoss can pick up 850 gallons of water in 30 seconds and then nip off and dump the lot on the nearest camp fire by simply opening the doors in the underslung tank. (Wet tee shirts abound when this guy comes by).Incidentally, drawings of any decent nature just don’t seem to exist for this beauty. The manufacturer’s pathetic sales sketch just doesn’t cut the mustard. So, once again I had to get stuck in and draw from scratch. Boy, can I pick ‘em.

I had never heard of this one, but it reminds me a lot of another favorite of mine, the Piper PA25 Pawnee agricultural aircraft for crop spraying. We see a lot of the latter in the Great Plains skies or making low passes 20to 50 feet above the crop rows. Quite a impressive sight to see close up!!
