Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I just got here, and this is beautiful, I'm honored to even be mentioned with this piece. I'm amazed at how thoughtfully you've delved into the world of digital image-&-painting. Your lens-flare has been muted in the most delicate way: I.e., it's subtle enough not to spill its light all over the image (as lens-flare is designed to do); you've applied your black-background beautifully; and the only remnants of "light-spread" you've allowed are the delicate 'corona' of the moon (or sun), the wonderful thin lines of light emanating out of it, and the two flare-reflections which you've coordinated with the plane beautifully. (Amazing coordination, I hope people see it: The small blue circle over the nose of the plane & the large greenish one by the right wing.) That is so well done! And the plane itself—one of your classic plane shots w/ your characteristic modulated light—is silhouetted so skillfully, one would never know it came from a museum shot, or air field, or wherever you found it originally. Seamless job, just seamless...and your pov—as many said—is wonderful: But then we've come to expect that from your plane shots. As Tara says, "spectacular": Your sojourn into photograpy-painting is wonderful, and I can't wait to see what you'll be doing several months from now. I'll be back for more soon...but when I saw this, I had to thank you for mentioning me, and I'm glad my wild & woolly image could coax such a delicate & classic vision out of you. What a series of images you're doing. I look forward to many more...
