Description
I worked as a studio photographer a few more years back than I care to clarify. What enchants me in Poser, for the time being, is seeing how close I can get to a portrait I may have made with a camera. Although it has been a long while since I worked with Kodachrome I was saddened when they ceased producing it this year. "All things must pass away" .. but Kodachrome was magic stuff, and those things are not supposed to die .. right? I was thinking it might be fun to attempt a portrait which felt like an old fine-grain print from a Kodachrome slide. Somehow I deluded myself into imagining the process would only take up a coffee break's time. Maybe someone here knows where the rest of my evening went off to? Terry

Nice attempt to capture that "film" feeling. Lucky it only took you the evening. Beautiful model and a great render.

Perfection takes at least six coffees. :-) Though the experiment seems to have worked. You have caught the Kodachrome feel perfectly.

Again a very refined expression, a beautiful slightly smile! In your previous image one could not see the eyes, now we can. The eyes are the mirror of the soul and often they flatten a 3D image to merely 'a 3D image'.. Not here, for you managed to breath life into them. My compliments! And you ask where your evening has gone to? smiles once bitten by the 3D-bug there is no return and many evenings will 'vaporize', trust me.. :) Hope to see many more from your able hands Terry!

Which program did you use to model the character in the image? I like the hair, it has a nice weight to it.
Teyon
So then you didn't actually model the character or any other part of the image? I think you meant to put this in the Poser gallery then. It's a cool image though. She's kind of got a bland expression (in my opinion) but the image itself is good. I like the lighting and the backdrop. Four from me. :)

I too am dating myself but Paul Simon wrote a great song to kodachrome .. "gives us nice bright colors, the greens of summer..." I used kodachrome for years as an outdoor photographer, nothing was as good. Fujichrome was supposed to be but it was always too blue for me.
