Description
This is a Three-toed Box Turtle. The red eyes indicate that it is a male. He is eating the fruit of some species of wild Plum tree that is on my property. In all the years I have been aware of this tree, I have never seen any indication that anything eats this fruit. I have tasted it and not only is it slightly bitter, it is also very "mealy".
Tomorrow begins a full week of male Dragonflies. A different species for each day.
