Located on the Holy Mountain above the eastern shore of Lake Ammersee in the middle of Upper Bavaria’s Five-Lakes Region, Andechs Monastery has been a cherished destination for pilgrims for more than half a millennium. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Thanks for this pic, Tivoliguy! A wonderful pic for the categories "landscape" and "architecture". The early monks of Andechs settled on top on the hill, and your pic shows very fine the strategic importace of this place. I was never there, but the name Andechs is well known in Bavaia and in whole Germany, because the monks have a great tradition in beer browery. The modern pilgrims come to the beer gardens of Andechs, and they are many, many.....
