Hi all.
Special thanks go to Rutra, silverblade33 and ArtPearl for all the excellent advice they gave me to pull this image off. There were a number of technical problems in trying to create this scene in vue with the main problem being quite simply, the Stars in the Vue atmospheres are nothing short of terrible and totally fake. The density and scale is all wrong, so a completely different approach needed to be taken to make this image.
The entire image was rendered in vue with no post work at all applied other than the border and text. The starts are a procedural material applied to a sphere that encompass the entire scene, and the moon is an actual sphere with nodes and a NASA texture. Finally, there are a number of cloud layers.
