Tack sharp macro- although the subject causes me to jump and run entertaingly in the opposite direction. Is this a hornet perhaps? Most of the wasps in this area have a longer thinner tapered "waist" between the midsection and tail end- but I have seen wasps of this configuration too... screw it- they all sting repeatedly and bite hard, so kudos on your closeup capture nerves! :)
