Description
I figured I'd get away from the sunsets for a while and post something else Pine Island is well know for ...its wildlife. Particularly its ospreys. There are quite a number of them living there and it was fun to watch them hunting and catching fish.
This one is taking a break on a gate constructed at the base of a private pier. The signs seem a little silly with all of that open space behind.

Interesting gate, how is it blocking you from the ocean though, lol I would just walk around it, the bird doesn't seem to be paying much attention to its message either.

The osprey definitely canbnot read the signs :-).. Wish I was able to come this close to such a beautiful bird..

Perhaps the signs would better state "Stay in". Pine Island,..Cheri and I were there in March, I love it there, and the people. I have two aunts and uncles who live there almost half the year. There was a nesting pair just down the road, Cheri tried getting a few shots, especially when they were feeding the young ones. I don't think they turned out very well though, too far away! Beautiful bird, captured in an almost comprising situation, good thing that mans laws and wishes don't pertain to nature!

I find it amusing that he sits upon a sign saying to keep out! He certainly calls attention to it. A gate to where?? lol
