Description
Photo taken with my youngest grand-daughter Ruby when Mum was 90 and on the wedding day of my eldest son Steve (predatron) to Diane (Diandra).
Didn't my mum look amazing for the age of 90, she has always looked very young and her hair even though she is now 93 has not gone white!!!
PLEASE NOTE My cats are actually that big, they are British Shorthair and one of the larger breeds of cats, my dogs are smaller than they, being Bolognese toy dogs, also my mother is only very small, so perhaps the cats look overly big but I did get everything into proportion here :o) x
Original photo of Mum with Ruby taken in my lounge and there were no dogs or cats around at the time, all were added later.
The background is folkvangar's sit with me bgd 01, and the 2 upright chairs from sit with me too. So the whole scene looks rather different from the very first photo I took.
Photo of Mistapus who you see seated on your left was taken as he sat on the bathroom window sil.
Freddie the red silver tabby's photo was taken as he sat on the window sil in the kitchen. Carina sat near Mums left foot was taken in the same position as you see her there, but added later.
Photo of Madelena who you see seated on your right, was taken on my office chair.
Photo of Amy who sits on Mum's knee here, was taken on my office chair.
Neither Amy nor Freddie were born when I took the original photo of Mum with Ruby.
The picture in the background has been covered with Folkvangar's Lavender Art, and the fairy within it I put out of frame (she is my mother's and grand-daughters guardian Angel here).
As you know my mother has dementia now, and does not even know how old she is, and also has forgotten who Ruby is, and tomorrow she will have forgotten her birthday. She will come to mine and my daughter and her family will also join in the celebrations. Mum will be eating all her favourite foods, and hopefully have a wonderful day, surrounded by the ones who love her the most.

Happy birthday to Jane's mother! It is a great heart-warming room. Very lovely! The composition is very effective which located your mother's and cute girl's faces in the center of the image. Freddie seems with a proud look at her foot.

This is a wonderful composition in many ways, Jane. And of course my 93.rd birthday wishes for your mother. The youngest looking 90 yo. i ever saw on an image #:o) You have gathered all your thoughts in this image, in a fantastic and positive way. Great happiness shine through out this image. Dementia is pure evil.. because it means.. that your mother can look at you and say: You look like a nice person Jane... do i know you? And that is devastating.... You did a wonderful job on this, Jane..Keep it up all the way.+5

Happy birthday to your beloved mom, a day late, and all my heart to you too, Jane, I know how much this means & what a journey you've been on with your mom (given what you've dealt with too, through that time)...I'm astonished at what you've done to this. I honestly thought it was a picture of the real thing (with your animals well behaved for the shot!) Amazing the seamlessness you achieved, but even moreso, the color schemes—awash in violets and peach hues—and textures and the addition of all the fairy tale elements; and a sense of a chamber awash in deep memory and love. And your mother looks peaceful and loving, and i know it is hard as her memory leaves, how, as Lars said, she can know you one minute and then say you look like a nice person, 'do I know you?' the next. But a sweetness overcomes the face & presence of such souls, like a child's sweetness, and her need & desire of the simplest and purest form of love is truly touching & beautiful. It's beautiful that you surrounded her here in all these elements from your life, all of which mean love to you. I can't get over how well you did this, the postures all 'right' and the eyes looking where they would look in real life, and the paste-ups so seamless...a great gift for someone you truly love. I send all my wishes to her heart which is where she lives deeply, and to you, Jane, for what this means to you. It's a beautiful gift & tribute, filled with love and the gentlest adoration; and it's very, very moving. Very beautiful work Jane! You amaze me with your skills of adding the animals, perfect!
