In the Spring of this year, my Clematis flowered. I posted several pics, especially of the "seed case" development. Recaps shown in the collage above. Tulsa has had a few hot days, though not over 104 F., and slightly better than normal rainfall.
Today (8/13/09),I noticed the pistils are starting to "feather." I wonder what comes next.

Best Wishes, Bill! And I had forgotten the feathers that get on jackets along with all the other hitchhikers. Ours are just at "after the petals" now, and I noticed some of the neighbors', trellised on the north side of their houses, are even later than ours. 104 sounds rough around the edges. Stay cool!

I've killed all my clematis, so this is as breath-holding a moment as your photostories... :D

104! outrageous! I wilt at 80! I did a similar montage last week, with the answer for you! http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1927485

Thank you Durleybeachbum. This is fun. In Tulsa, Oklahoma we are on the edge of the Southern Plains. We expect several days of 100+ F. each summer; and speak both gentle and soothing words to our air conditioning units.

Lovely progress, I think I'll get a clematis myself.
