Description

She was just a babe when she was left in the woods that night. Her parents were fearful. Not of the wood, even though they had been told about the creatures living there when they were childern themselves. They were afraid of the babe they placed on the dew covered grass. Afraid of the fires of the stove or the hearth or the candles that would dance unnaturally when the babe cried. Afraid of what their neighbors would do when they noticed the flames. Afraid they would be left in these very woods themselves. Left behind she was, to face the creatures of the wood and meet her fate. Alone and crying in the darkness, her pitiful wails attracted the very creatures her parents and the villagers feared. Those of giant claws and glowing eyes emerged from the shadows. In the grass they found not flesh to rip from bone but an innocent spirit. The babe was nurtured by the natural magic of the wood and protected by its inhabitants. She has since grown, and is now one of those stories that parents use to keep their children from those woods. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for looking and reading.
