Description

Bryce 6.1/DazStudio/Photoshop One of my favourite documentaries is Microcosmos, which portrays the world of insects from their POV.This is an attempt to do that in Bryce. The ant is from Daz3D,as is the vine(all posed in DazStudio). For the vine,I took the preset Mossy Wood vegetation texture, and removed the preset moss procedural and replaced it with a mossy bark photo in the Material Editor, which made it look more realistic.I also added more specularity to the ant mat to make it more realistic too.The sky and atmo are custom.I removed the clouds, and changed the atmo and fog colour to a yellow-green.Once the settings were increased I had the basis for the blurred background. The sun was removed, and two radial lights set high replaced it,giving the effect of sun filtering through the forest canopy.Three more radial lights in a bluish colour provided reflected light from below. The image was rendered in Premium, with soft shadows, true ambiance and DOF selected. In Photoshop I added the blurred shadows and highlights to the background, and signature. Thanks for viewing, and any comments!

Each of your posts is an amazing lesson in the possibilities of Bryce. Your renders are stunning and captivating in themselves, but that you give so many details about how you did it makes it even more instructive. I learn so much from your posts, it's amazing.

I just love this one! The textures and especially the lighting are great! And I finally wanna say a special "thank you" to you for the explanations you always provide with your images. It's very helpful for Bryce newbies like me, and very much appreciated!
