Description

I was just takin' with me mate Jeff, about photography, and macro lenses, which I don't have anymore. It lead me to photos I've taken of what I really do outside of Poser. This shot of a building, our local Museum, called "Puke Ariki", google it, you would be amazed. It was drawn for construction by me, the steelwork fabrication drawings, by me. Geometry in this building, using steel sizes far more than normal that I am use to, and keeping the roof plane level, was a nightmare. But, it was built, it's a statement on our local landscape, and I'm proud to have been a part of it. Oh the handsome bloke over-looking the sea... is ME! Jeff, it's doesn't have to be macro to be beautiful, but it helps. Love your imaes man. Deane

Talk about building a real world image from the ground up! Awesome, and its truly sad that people will just randomly comment on the photo without reading the underlying story. A building you designed in the real world, this is your architectural design- and a photo of it-- this is the most realistic render ever! How many people can say they designed a building, laid out the plans, and here it freakin is folks- the real deal! But, when I come down there on vacation, Ill show ya how to take some nice HDR shots of the building for your amusement, this is nice, but lets make it georgeous. :) Wanker!

Quite often I wondered, "What does RGUS do for a living?" I'm guessing you're an architect? Great looking building and pic.

good to see your smiling face, Deane! Does the name have any connection to "chunder" or "technicolor yawn?" Fine work, regardless!

You know what is cool is the shapes of the building are shapes I often see in your backgrounds--abstract repeating patterns in cool colors. hehe, you look a little like James Bond here. I assume there is a hollowed out volcano underneath the building.

I have built many buildings and I understand the intricate nature of structural steel, it can be as in your building an art in itself! Great work I can see the detail that was nessicary for construction!

As I saw and read a lot from/about New Zealand (at least for an European) I immediatly saw how the building picks up the feel of the landscape (and to me it seems: The style of ancient architecture?!). A wonderful building, very "light weighted", it's easy to see why you are proud to be part of the team that planned and built it!
