Description

This flower belongs to "Aristolochia", a large plant genus with over 500 species. Collectively known as birthworts, pipevines or Dutchman’s Pipes. They are widespread and occur in the most diverse climates, but they are not native to Australia. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments. Dana PS: Yesterdays posting was a farming plough. It was pulled by an animal, like a horse, and the farmer guided the plough, through the fields, to create rows to sow his seeds. Not fun when he hit a large rock.

Dana, another wonderful image of a peculiar, yet fascinating flower. We've not seen this one before. The markings on the flower reminds me of some the pitcher plants that occur in the carniverous plant varieties.
