Description
For so long she stood watching. He said he'd return, someday. The sea can keep him away for only so long, and he's always returned before. But now the ship is overdue, and nobody seems too surprised. So even though she isn't surprised the hurt that settled so deep in her chest can't let it go at that, and so she stares at the waves; wondering if they are his whispers, apologies that this time, he won't be coming back.
She won't let it go at that, she knows this. Not even those hungry waves will deny her what she wants. She knows the way to find him, and they will not stop her, no matter how cold they may feel. She will never forget. And she will not let them have him.
