Description


Last time I did a photo of this dam it was from downstream. The lake above was very low. Now, water is high as desired and just enough a constant minor flow comes over the spillways. As a result, the dam is now in bloom..with green. This view is a few hundred feet above and below one end. This is not an eyestopping photo but is interesting. An experiment in slow shutter, the shot was at F/22, ISO 100, 0.3 sec, with a polarizer to help take a couple more stops from the lighting.

That is very interesting! Easy to understand about the green, since we had an algae bloom in our aquarium once... yuck. Great job with shutter timing. The water looks very smooth. Hope all is well, Tom!

Last time I was out this way was last summer when the water level was way down, I bet it is beautiful out that way now... Nice photo.. I have a similar one in my gallery. in fact it appears that we stood in the same area to shoot these.. hope all is well with you ~

Excellent clarity and crisp color! I love the POV here as well. The whole thing just looks so BIG! Great work and I particularly love the dark blue of the lake water. That is one of the harder colors to capture well, at least for me, but you've done so perfectly here. Great work.
