quite beautiful, Carol. Especially how you changed the lower eagle of #1 into one who is peering down as if looking at a prey, or just surveying the land beneath...He has a fierceness & great presence. Also I love the small eagle present in the dreamcatcher itself, and all the hints of organic forms painted into the dreamcatcher, like the stuff of which dreams are woven, still in their unconscious state...The texture of the d.catcher is finely painted, and the holes where the cords bind it are each slightly different and the light & shade is very finely articulated. That's a small point, I know, but it adds so much to the delicacy of your image & makes it very real. And of course, your background trees & branches are gently sunken into the fog, like dream-whispers themselves...I had the honor of studying with an old shaman from the Ojibwa nation (the Ojibwa having designed the first dreamcatchers). She was from the old school & didn't use these, but she spoke lovingly of them & of the dreams we have in our conscious days. She built fires in thunderstorms and sang in high gusts and moved like a dream herself; and when she drummed & sang, she filled up the forest with such power & volume, you'd have thought a whole chorus was singing. This image brings back her memory...A deeply thought-out piece: Your care is always present, and shows you're wholly connected to everything you do for us...lovely.
