Description
we heard there was a groovy concert happening on the east coast... so we left out on what turned out to be the concert of a lifetime. We spent three days with over a half a million people in a farmer’s field. We had three days of fun and music and nothing but fun and music... the people in the surrounding villages dealt with us accordingly they fed us gave us shelter and communication. The military gave us medical care...people died we mourned...a baby was born we celebrated... the bands played the best music a generation could offer...timeless classics that live on this very day. We had become a nation, The Woodstock Nation... of peaceful folk who wanted to do nothing more than just get away for a while... and we did. When it was over...we went back home to the hills and the dales of USA. Many of us who had just protested about a war...went off to fight in that very war...we were a generation of shakers and movers and we moved this country forward, or at least we tried.
Those three days in August of 1969 will forever live on in the hearts and minds of all who made it happen...Peace Love Flowers and Beads Man...
it’s a free concert from now on... if you’re too tired to chew...pass it on
