Description

For the fifth day of my holiday, we went exploring in Stockholm's South Side. The route we chose to get there was, into the old town, ride the Katarina Lift and take the walkway to our destination. The Katarina Lift was originally built in 1883 and was, apparently, demolished in 1933 but rebuilt two years later. It takes you up to a height of 38 meters (about 115 feet) from where you can get some excellent views of the old city and the waterfront. Always happy to do the tourist thing, here is one of my views from the top of the lift. Sadly, for some reason, I took no pictures of the lift itself. Still, the views are much more spectacular than the means of getting them. :-) ---------------------------------------------- Original Photograph 26-Jul-2009
