Description
From a set of images reconstructing Kenilworth Castle in 1575 and Queen Elizabeth's visit. Needs better flames on the torches and a nicer fall off on the light. Any suggestions. Thanks.

This has the potential of being a very powerful image. If it's any help then try making the torch light more visible by using a double light source. One light invisible for illumination, and one superimposed visible light, but with no light radiation, to show the torch flame. I did this with my picture 'The Patriots'. If I were doing this picture I would spread the bottom right hand torch light out slightly into the yard to pick out some of the cobbles. You are possibly wasting that wonderful figure shape. The top right light needs to have greater reach to the top right corner with a long gradual fall off. Otherwise, Wow! this is a great image idea friend. It really captures the atmosphere.

Thanks zippy, I'll try those excellent suggestions. There were three torches along the base of the keep to give light to the base and the courtyard, but for some reason they didn't render. With a render time of 5hrs 37mins (on an old G3 Powerbook) I'll wait until I've done the fixes. Thanks again. makw

Its simple and yet riveting... I think that its simplicity is the best thing about it.

Forgot to mention - and must mention - that a lot of the modelling (windows & crenalations) where done by my most excellent colleague phurst1. You'll see them in full light when we post "A Tudor Day". Thanks for the comments again.
