Description

Hi, thanks for clicking through. A little bit o' fun for Conniekat. I really wanted to do something nice with the Bootleggers because they look just awesome. Production Credits: DAZ V4 with Blackhearted's "GND4" Morphs. "Vanessa" textures from DAZ. "Wild Hair" from RDNA. Top and Bottom are from the "Deathbringer" set from DAZ. Knives and basic pose are from DM's "Legends." Setting is from the 'White Room' set by Dreamlight. pwSurface2 on all of the 'soft' materials. Lighting & Rendering: Basic Studio lights from Dreamlight with a little uberEnvironment for fill. The lights were rendered in separate passes for Key, Back and the three fill lights. I ran a separate overnight pass for the uberEnvironemnt, which took forever due to the high-poly transmapped Wild Hair. Next I ran a volumetric pass for the back light. The Studio 3 volume shader has this little problem where it oversaturates on transmapped textures - giving a very weird 'halo' effect on the hair. I ran another volume pass, this time with the hair off and then combined the two passes in Photoshop, carefully painting out the problem areas. Postwork: I combined the ambient, fill, back, key and back volumetric passes in Photoshop using screen mode against a black background. The advantage to doing this is that you can tweak the relative intensities of the lights without having to re-render. When I had a mix I liked I selected my layers and hit ctrl-shft-alt-E to combine them to a new layer. I made a duplicate of this layer and ran a levels adjustment on the duplicate... I squashed the levels so that I got a high contrast dark image of my original. I ran a gaussian blur on that and applied it over the original in screen mode to give a nice 'shot through nylon' type glow to the image. This can be a really heavy handed effect so I backed the intensity down to about 25%. Next I ran a 'sharpen' on the original to ensure that the detail didn't get too fuzzed out. Finally I expanded my canvas and added some glows and framing. I painted a bit of background behind the main image using one of Amaranth's "Illuminate Supreme" brushes. A lot of work for a bit of fluff but it was fun and relaxing, I hope it does the bootleggers some justice :) As always your comments and critique are most appreciated!

Superb materail work, but then I'd expect no less from you. Gotta love the GND body even though her left hip looks somewhat contorted from this angle.

awesome light an shader set up, rhe pose and expression works very well. I was wondering what the knives were for, is like some kind of role play where the girls wears a pinny and chops vegetables whilst in kinky boots and her underwear

Even your thumbnail screams of quality. The volumetric lighting is quite wonderful. I really need to practice with that more. Thank you for the tip on getting the hair to look right with it. You really did put a lot of work into this, but it was well worth it.
