My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

(before getting to your shot...) as I'm sure you know, the Japanese garden is one of the most organic human designs on earth, because unlike the great gardens of Europe where nature is shaped into magisterial but unnatural shapes, the Japanese garden respects the natural expression of each rock, plant, stream and piece of gravel. I mean, they made gardens of nothing but stones (as you know), and the randomness and "thing-ness" of each stone—ie, capturing its essence in the way it was placed—was key to the design & spirit of the garden. Some zen masters would ask your reaction, and if you didn't get the 'thingness' of it—its essence, shorn of all intellectual 'talk'—they'd tell you to go home and come back and try again...Your shot is full & lush, and you got a nice big view of the back, including that bridge (even there, if they can find a stone that works without altering it, they use it!), and you let it all open up at the bottom, ie into the pond. Water music's a good title! It's music, visually as well as sonically. Very nice shot Tara, you did the zen thing, you let the shot guide you its own way...

This is gorgeous, and I have so much catching up to do, it's not even funny...but oh well...such is life! This is a great photo for me, because it's restful and yeah, quite Zen, though maybe with a bit of Shinto thrown in for good measure and that's never a bad thing. I love the mood of this, the whole natural vibe of it. Your control of light is perfect as usual...and as for Koi looking like fish, I loved that little written detail. They DO look like fish, or rather like overdressed submarines, if they're fat/overfed.
