in a shot like this, the flower could be a pedestal for a sculpture (the center, the stamen); it's very sculptural, and typical of how you transform a simple flower into a 'statement' through your eye & choices. It has sexual power too, as all flowers do (and are supposed to as that's their function), and at the same time that central growth is like a big exotic tree. Beautiful & mysterious, a capture of the power of a flower, with a big dark area in the center.
