Description

The Gambit of stars is appeared in 1958. The «Human Galaxy» - in spite of its presumptuous name - was still only a tiny life island in the huge ocean of light. However his big dream was to make coincider borders with the spiral outlines of the stellar galaxy. Jerg Arlan not much got worried about the ultimate glory of the Man and of the enemies or of the friends who could watch for it or wait for it in some distant fall of the space. However the human galaxy made his ambassador, sent him - against his liking - to explore the centre of the stellar galaxy. Because there stretched a worrying region, hub of the Ferris wheel of stars, numerous space where got lost expeditions, where were fulfilled strange designs, where were perhaps the solutions of immemorial problems. There, on dead stars, had been built, at forgotten time, by a more ancient breed than the Man, large black citadels. Who were as so many huts of a chessboard in the space. Chessboard on who Jerg Arlan is going to hire the last stage of struggle: the Gambit of stars.
