Description
Also from my recent shoot. This and my last post have no HDR although the level of contrast in part of the image would suggest it. This was shot with my usual D90 and my newer old 35-70MM F2.8 lens at about F11. There is an AB1600 in a large softbox to camera left and an assistant is blocking the sunlight with a 42 in. scrim to camera right. There were some light wispy clouds in front of the sun so the F11 exposure from the strobe was giving me about 60 to 70 percent of the light hitting the model and that is the number that I use to determine where to set the power of the light. Using one light outdoors it is really that ratio that maters most to me, how much light comes from the strobe and how much is ambient providing for fill. Postwork includes several layers of sharpening and exposure changes, and a few curves adjustments with masking to protect the model and to focus the image on her. Thank you.
