Description

Hi there everyone, I thought I would post something to lift my spirits a bit. I also thought they would lift yours as well. These are called Morning Has Broken. They are my neighbor's heirloom roses. His grandmother planted them there in the 70's. It used to be her house. It's kind of cool having him for a neighbor, He grew up with Dave. His parents and Dave's parents were best friends. Thank you for looking. Peace, Cheri

Sweet!!! Ok,.... this will test your memory, but this is not really the first post Cheri did of these. if you check out http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1901955&member , there was a bee involved, which she bravely waded in and took, even though being allergic to bee stings. I preferred she had posted this first, such an abundance of beauty! John lives just a few houses away, which is a bit odd as I grew up with him living just a few houses away, his dad and mine were childhood best friends, and ended up raising their families 3 houses apart. John, as well as the rest of his family are,...well...pretty much family! Sorry,..starting to ramble. Anyway, I drive past here every morning and again on my way home from work, I saw that the roses had bloomed, and told Cheri to grab her camera, when she had gotten home from work, she had no idea as to why, and we took a brief walk, to get this. I think she was so thrilled to capture one with a busy bee at work, or just to be so close to a bee, without panicking, waving her arms wildly about, and all the rest that goes on with one with such an allergy being in proximity, that the other shots just got overlooked,...for a bit. So, this like several other incredible captures has been placed in folders just waiting for her to re-discover. I wish I had access to them, mostly because when she posts something with a title of twisted, I have no idea what she put up for you, and am almost afraid to look. Cheri is a true ninja photographer, pretty much meaning nothing is sacred or safe, nor are you aware the shot was even taken,.....until you see it posted on the internet. I pretty much wear clean underwear all the time now, because of that. This is just beautiful, the colors are incredible, and it's about time you shared this one sweetie!

This is fantastic, and in terms of the open rose petals, there is an odd number of them. Czechs do not give even numbers of flowers, except at funerals, and that's kind of a habit I've picked up! Strange how the mind makes associations like that in terms of pictures and such. This is a great shot with a fantastic sense of color and light. My grandmother also had a rose garden, I don't know if she had heirloom roses, but she probably did...but alas...the family had other plans when she passed away and now the house belongs to someone who bought it and cut down the Catalpa tree out front. Oh well...life goes on. As for this picture though, it's stunning, and the yellow is so incredibly vivid and alive! Great work, as always.
