Description

Something different for me. I don't usually do soft style imagery but this one came together nicely with a little help from two great girlfriends. This is for two special ladies, Scifibabe and Pearl 3D. Lori (Scifibabe) gifted me her delightful background set Lovely Lands one of which forms the backdrop for this scene. I told Lori she would have to wait for me to come up with a soft image for her. Now I did. Peggy (Pearl 3-d) gifted me her Magic Cecile 2 texture set, one of which graces Morgana in this scene. Thank you sweeties for letting me have the chance to play with these delightful sets. I'll be posting another version of this pic in a few days. This is my own light set. After the battle of Tailtiu a dejected Morgana spent her final few days in her forest home before having to leave for the underworld. Morgana had been a guardian of the woodlands; she had been personally trained by the Goddess Diana to take care of the forest and all its creatures, for Morgana was born with the gift of knowing. She naturally knew that everything was connected to everything else and so one had to think carefully about every action you took upon the land. And you always had to pay respect to all the forces of nature be they animate or inanimate. She knew too of the ways of the humans; the Melissian invaders would soon be cutting down her beloved forests to make way for their crops. These creatures had no understanding of how to live with the land, they only knew how to live on the land. They did not understand that even the rocks and rivers had souls and should be treated with respect. But most painfully Morgana knew that she would never again be free to smell the sweet forest blossoms of spring nor the delicate rot of leaves in the fall. She could never again live fully in the forest; from now on she would be a trespasser in her own home. So while Morgana mourned the loss of her best friend Eriu, slain at the battle of Tailtiu, she mostly mourned the loss of the land. The thought of losing them both was almost unbearable. But now it was time to go; her people needed her. Her twin sister, Elerisha, Guardian of the Gates, was calling her name. Now she must pay her respects to her lost friend. Elerisha in Scota series

Yea, sadly, 'tis time to travel to Saol Eile, the otherworld. Happily, they had a number to choose from, but that's another story. You portray here the saddest moment in the history of the Tuatha de Danaan, when they were banished from their homes after their defeat at the hands of the Milesians. You have done a magnificent job of capturing both the beauty and the sorrow of that moment, an emotional feat not easily accomplished. Another beautiful render, expertly executed!
