Description
Cold, wet nose
Brown fur against my face
Good morning!
Will you get up?
And let me-out
Me-out, me-out
Ne-ow, ne-ow
Nag, nag, nag
“A boy and his cat”, my father once said
An orphan rescued, companion, best friend
Broke, unemployed, headed south
She was there
A thief entered our first real home
She chased him away
My nine pound watch cat
Old and blind
With all her battles ended
She sleeps now
In quiet repose
A memory I carry
Love ends
Friends drift away
She remains
Just a dumb animal
My friend, my pet, my cat
**************************
One day my three college roommates went down to the city pound to save the animals.
They had picked two dogs and a cat when my friend Larry said; “We didn’t get anything for Mark!” I came home and found this little Siamese sitting on my bed. As I approached, she gave a little yelp and began to purr. And so began a nineteen year love affair.

Did she have the siamese vocabulary. I had a British Havana Brown (which is a siamese/solid mix) and she had a wonderful vocabulary. If I told her to stop doing something, she would, and give me a very long many syllabled diatribe expressing her displeasure. Sake was lovely!
