Description

Taz is a fine example of a carousel horse we spotted on a 'merry go round' at Ilfracombe in Devon, UK Popular in the 1800's these fairground attractions became steam powered and had generators added to power electric lights, so that the barley twist brass work and brightly painted artwork could be shown off at night. This set of gallopers was built by Frederick Savage's engineering firm from Kings Lynn in Norfolk. Savage first built agricultural implements before moving to manufacture of the UK's most elaborate merry-go-rounds in the 1800's.
