My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I am so glad you are back and refreshed , Chief seems like a cool guy to know, and never a dull moment when he is around. Even though he is giving you one of those faces this is a cool photo and made me smile.

Reminds me of the crazy smile I get whenever I take a picture of my grandson. Good friends are precious and Chief looks like a gem. CC

Fantastic portrait, and it is good to read the background material. My only question is, "Was he ok when the shock treatment wore off?"

yes, there are some people who just love to ham it up for the camera (I used to until every photographer I knew disowned me, lol), but you still caught him with your own eye and got more subtlety than he probably planned on, poor bloke! Maybe I'll take the opportunity to talk about a "Tara portrait". Get out your notes folks, this could be lengthy! The separation of him from the background is of your characteristic crispness & clarity. You've caught a darker shade in his face which balances the burst of his expression—stay with me as this is more than coincidence. It's a choice, conscious or no, no matter how swarthy he is, or how tan; you still could've caught him with enough light to lighten his skin—in fact many photographers opt for that very choice. But you stuck with a darker tone, where the toned-down facial hues balance the big burst of his expression. That's just good intuitive portraiture, balance coming from all kinds of things. He's nicely framed in the whole, ie, nice proportions—no surprise there, as this is a Tara shot. There's a nice contrast between his darker face & the lighter tones of his chest (and jersey)—again just basic good portraiture. And his eyes match the color of his jersey—they really do, look: Something in you had to see that. It's just a really good picture Tara, and the trees & light behind him are just a tad like flame, so you caught nature harmonizing with his expression... So (conclusion), whatever he gave you, you gave back. Always amazing what you put into that small frame of yours, you know just how to crop, where to stop, etc etc. (In fact, that was one of the toughest things I dealt with when making your dedi: Proportions. Some ancients said proportions were the whole enchilada—which is the actual Greek, btw, "enchilada" being Greek for—fuggeddit, there's no joke there! [What'm I, Henny Youngman?] But that's the classical side to you, among your many sides.) This is a fine portrait & lots of fun too. Now go & show this to the Chief & he'll say, "man, you gotta get that a-hole outa your life!" And btw, Cgaynor's comment is a riot.
