Description
As the posting of Lanyon Quoit seemed quite popular, here is another megalithic structure - on the same moor in Madron, Cornwall.
Ding Dong Mine is off to the right, along with the Nine Maidens Stone Circle, also nearby is Men-Scryfa (a mediaeval inscribed stone).
Local legend has it that if you pass an ill person through the Men-an-Tol hole then they will be cured !!
It's supposed to be especially good for rickets and bad backs - I just managed to squeeze throught the hole .... and now I have a bad back !

Thanks so much for commenting on my latest posting and for giving me the opportunity to discover your art. So many beautiful photos in your gallery ; you're a master ! I don't know this part of England even though I dare say I know Britain pretty well ; I've got to get there soon.

This really reveals an intent for this and the story of healing is very interesting. I do often wonder how archeologist come up with these theories though. Maybe it was really meant to be an early sort of toilet seat and we got it all wrong! or a big net was woven and placed behind it and it was used as a ball return for practicing sports games... Still and all, it is a marvelous shot and I like the way you lined it all up.
