Description
A group getting wet the fun way at the US National Whitewater Center.
The man-made river is the US Olympic training facility for whitewater paddling and is open for public use. Twelve million gallons of water is pumped through the recirculating river. There are three routes sporting class I - IV rapids. And when a kayak or raft reaches the lower pond the paddlers simply ride a conveyor back to the top, boat and all! When the pumps are cut off in the evening, crews can move various gates, underwater obstructions, etc. to completely change the rivers personality and difficulty.

Great image! I've seen lots of whitewater races. The annual Missouri whitewater championship races are held just outside of town here.

Super photo, I like how you framed this in flying water. I got to do this once back when I was in high-school, I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of a scare from time to time.
