The sea surface has a "planished" look. This look is in the area below the surface in stamps of steel. I always wondered if the hammer in the East German state seal was a "planishing hammer". The upper surface is as if buffed by a leather belt. What I am saying is that the method (and how could it miss?) doesn't quite have the right tangency and either peak or curl to the most upper edge. I can't quite see a fresh wind picking up or a stale one dying. The value and tint as it progresses into the horizon is remarkable.
