Lots of contrast lots of layers lots of fun. The shot is real just like it is shown just used a lot of contrast and adjustment layers and a correspondingly large amount of masking to control the increased contrast. I am beginning to understand and appreciate how the lighting contributes to this high contrast detail enhanced PP effect. When Dave Hill says his thing is mostly done with lighting I feel I understand what he means - this is lit by a large strobe to camera left but it resulted in a fairly flat light since she is lit from the right by the sun shining through a scrim. My other work from this set is being rim lit by multiple strobes and front lit by a typical main and fill to balance and somewhat overpower the sun - in that case the contrast enhancement goes hand in hand with the high contrast provided by the rim lighting - in this image it does not so the whole thing appears somewhat flat. Anyhow more work to do that is for sure :)
