Description

Pheronitus and Riecar have travelled a while when Riecar calls a halt. Riecar: wait here, sir Pheronitus. You will be met by one who will be able to answer more of your question. It is important for you and those of Fae Valley. I will go and gather some food. As Pheronitus sits and ponders his life and what has happened, an elf appears from the darkness, and through magic creates a light that she and Pheronitus can see each other. Pheronitus: Who are you, fair maiden? What manner of magic is it that a light shines above us? Miridani: Greetings, Pheronitus! I am Miridani, an elven seer, an oracle, if you will. The light is a simple spell that allows the air itself to bring forth light. I have answers for you. You but need ask and I will tell you truthfully. Pheronitus: I know not where to begin to ask. Riecar told me some things, but I have a hard time believing them. One minute I'm with my troops marching to Hot Gates to face the Persians and the next, I'm here, far away in space and time, if what Riecar is saying true. Miridani: Riecar speaks truly. you are halfway around the world and very far in your future. Over 100 generations of your ancestors have lived and died since that battle. Pheronitus (softly with wonder): over 100? Miridani: Yes. but let us speak of now and why. You were brought here to help the people of Fae Valley. Riecar is a member as am I. We are just two of the many races that live here. Pheronitus: What is an elven? A Loik? What other races? are there any humans? Miridani: Yes there are other humans. and it is Elf not elven. Individually i and others like me are know as the Elf or Elves. We are part of the race known as the Fae. this race also has Faeries, Pixies, Sprites, Mermaids, or nymphs, Dryads, Dwarves, Drow or Dark Elves. We live together in a region known as Fae Valley. we are also members of the group known as the Seelie Court. Pheronnitus: Seelie Court? What is that? Miridani: We of the Seelie Court believe in living in harmony with all peoples, respecting nature and Mother Earth. Those that oppose that ideal belong to the UnSeelie Court. It is they and their beliefs that have caused you to be called to us. As Riecar has told you, they believe in chaos and would gladly see beauty and reason fall to dis-repair. For this reason, we have called you forth to help us in the battles to come. Will you help us? Pheronitus: If the others are as lovely as you, fair maiden, I will do it! Miridani (chuckling): I thank you, Pheronitus, but I'm not as young as you may think. I have seen hundreds of winters pass by and with luck, hundreds more. Pheronitus: how old are you? Miridani: if any other man had asked me that question, he would surely feel my wrath for days to come, but coming from you, I will tell you that I am 350 years old, about middle-aged. Pheronitus: forgive me, lady. I meant no offense. Miridani: none taken, I assure you. Hark! I hear Riecar returning and he sounds heavily laden. We shall eat well tonight. Tomorrow, you will meet one of our leaders of Fae Valley. Do not let her looks deceive you, for there is more to her than meets the eye. Thank you all for taking a look and commenting. An astonishingly lovely scene, with a magical short story to accompany this! It was a pleasure reading; such wonderful poses that are both meaningful and expressive.... excellent lighting Mike! ( I love that radiant glow! )

i love how the story carries on ,and i await to see some clashes between good and evil,i guess the folk in fae valley is now up to the task to help themselves ,and even sometimes although it is not in their nature ,but just to strike back or even strike before beiing attacked ,it is self defense and their duty is to erase the evil not only to keep it at bay. i dont want to throw a challenge but ....
