Description

Hi Everyone, I found this flower growing out on a wooded trail. I believe it is called a red bergamot. There were only two and they seemed out of place behind a wall of touch me nots. The area was alive with hummingbirds. A second surprise as I never happened onto so many hummingbirds in the woods so far away from houses with feeders. I will try to find time to post one of those birds soon. -GB-

What a lovely find! I know that Bergamot is used in my foaming hand soap but had no idea the flower looked like this. Love the softened background, too.

Nick found these growing out behind the house here in Fryeburg during our first summer here. He thought they were nice and decided to transplant them to a more suitable spot where they would be enjoyed. They have since seemed to love the new spot and we love them so much we are thinking of taking some with us to the new house in a couple months! Funny looking flowers aren't they, but pretty!
