Description

"...in the midst of humiliation and degradation, there is a silent pride that is stronger than strength." Poser, Photoshop, Painter II, Wacom tablet. I wanted this image to have the look and feel of a painting-to coincide with the era of slavery, when African's were considered "property not people". Facial features, texture, body, and clothing done in Photoshop CS4, Wacom tablet, and Painter II. Poser used as reference for head. The goal here was to present the character as having been thru a traumatic event. I wanted the head to be poised so that its still looking high or looking up to illustrate hope. Next I wanted to capture the great emotional restraint, that is fueled by pride. This work is still in progress... *Click image for full-size view

ALTHOUGH I was born with white fur I'm descended from slaves from PORTUGAL TO BRAZIL AND I AM PROUD OF MY OFFSPRING! FOUND THIS WORK FULL OF POETRY AND SWEETNESS! CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR PICTURE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL!
