What's New with The Art Of Carol Cavalaris
Galleries: I currently exhibit my work in several Colorado galleries, including juried shows at Art At The Center in Nederland, and Gilpin County Art Association in Central City. I also exhibit in several on-line art galleries. I also have on-going exhibits at various banks, community centers, libraries, restaurants, and also participate in local Art Fairs and Festivals. Art Licensing: I am a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange, where my art is on a Dream Catcher Collection, as well as an exclusive figurine and sculpture collection. My art is also being licensed and is on a variety of products including: eSkins for laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc., puzzles that are being sold in Target, K-Mart, and other retail and web stores. Several of my pieces have been licensed by a company called The Mountain. They produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly T-shirts and other apparel, and have some of the finest wildlife and fantasy artists in the world on their team. spirit horses is the right title, because they truly come out of spirit through the dreamcatcher's skin, and in your usual way of capturing the undulations & furrows of an animal in motion, they seem to be made of wind as much as of flesh. One sees their hues, but you've used less saturated versions, as if light had entered into them and bleached out some of their corporeality, making them all the more spirit. And there are points where their forms meld into movement & light itself, as if they're dissolving back into the wind from which they came. The largest horse (right side) has a fierce gaze that cuts through the piece. And your background—around the d.c.—is one of your usually articulate (not flat) areas of undulating space. The palette is consistent, and the feel is of flame-like of horses galloping through the membrane of the real world...powerful & very sensually done.
