Sorry for my English language….
Everyone know the Atrides’ story ,half – legendary ,half-historic tragedy. From the Atrée‘s murder by Egisthe to the Clytemnestre and Egisthe’ deaths all a succession of betrayals ,murders ,incest, etc…
I have already dealt with this theme (“ Iphigénie or the Pater Familias”).
Many dramatic authors have written about the Atrides ‘s last generation .With Sophocle ,Electre is the gods justice’s instrument (justice and vengeance besides) .Jean Giraudoux ( French scriver) gives a dimension more psychoanalistic at the character of Electre ( a sort of Oedipe complex feminine opposite her mother Clytemnestre) ,but the character of Chrysothemis has disappeared (she is named once).
I have tried to give a dimension more universal to the tragedy. For me the Atrides ‘s last childrens (Electre , Oreste and just as Chrysothemis more “understanding “ with the murderers of their father ,without talking to Iphigenie obviously ) carry in their souls the weight of the heritage as all the people living in the world. Are they victims? No. They are somewhere the fruits of the human inevitability …..A sort of “LOST GENERATION” doomed to worthless before than another generation arrive for perpetuating the life (“ Eternal Return “ from F.Nietzsche )
…..Also !.... behind the ruins the sun shine always….
One can always dispute my view and my artistic freedom.
I have tried….Have I succeeded in doing this painting ? I don’t know. I have tried . At you the judgments for which I thank you in advance.

Looks tome she stabbed a person that does not die, not sure why she stabbed him, but it does not look good for her.

Wonderful colours and mood! The old man (Jean Giraudoux?)is very well depicted. The Atreides "those of Atreus" was double cursed. First by the gods because Tantalus little joke of serving his own son as food. Second by Myrtilus who was killed by Atreus father Pelops "Because he had been promised the right to take Hippodamia's virginity".

Thank you for the interest that you give me All the first time I have wanted translate the Atrides ‘ tragedy (who for me is eternal) with today persons .Also the man to the right ,adulthood ,with imposing and important appearance and who hold the scepter of Agamemnon is Egisthe , Mycènes king and lover of Clytemnestre. He come to receive the stab with dagger from Oreste (person at the back with the croised arms). Egisthe is still standing up because ,astounded, self-confident and his power ,he don’t can to believe than someone has dared to do it . The young woman ( blue) to the left who try to stop the fury of her sister is Chrysosthemis ( to read “Electre” according to Sophocle) Always to the left the other woman is obviously Electre who cry her hatred to Egisthe. She don’t kill Egisthe but she drive her brother Oreste to kill . Oreste ,the murderer of Egisthe and Clytemnestre at the back because he is manipulated by the will of his sister.He is a simple underling. Yet ,for me , the more important is not there ,but well with the presence of the fifth person …Agamemnon ( have you seen Agamemnon in this painting ? …Even so he is there). Agamemnon as the one of the tragedy and malediction’s actors of Atrides , all as Electre ,Chrysosthemis and Oreste are and the heirs and the actors ( victims and murderers )…..hence the painting tittle “ Electre or the ATRIDES’ BLOOD”.For indicating the continuity and in same time an eternal beginning again

Très belle image, parfaitement composée, et dont la théâtralité l'apparente à une affiche (aussi bien pour la pièce que pour une adaptation cinématographique) J'aime beaucoup le symbolisme des couleurs employées ici. La présence d'Agamemnon, ou plutôt de son masque mortuaire, représenté sur le sol qui soutient les personnages est très explicite en tant que (deuxième) base de la Tragédie. J'aime bien cette idée de "génération perdue" (appartenant à un Cycle de Vie où la faute primordiale serait sans cesse repétée) Le fulgurance solaire de l'arrière-plan a un air d'oiseau et me fait penser au Phenix, comme une promesse d'un Cycle Nouveau et d'une Humanité libérée des fautes passées ...Excellent travail aussi bien pour la forme que pour le fond !!
