Description

Hi there. This big caterpillar was brought to me from my brother-in-law. He found her on his apple plantation. I think it's an Elephant Hawk-moth (Deilephila elpenor). I take a shot with her on my finger to show you the size... The caterpillars feed on willowherb - so I start a search the next morning 5.30 to get some food. Then we go to a 2 day trip and when I return I found her in a cocoon on the ground using the dried willowherb-leafes to wrap herself. The next posts I will show you some more shots of this caterpillar.

I think its time to give you the nickname "Insect Whisperer" LOL! Great detail and focus through and through- F16 is definately helping to keep your DOF nice and large.
