the manes & skins are rendered with detail yet with a soft flow of lines, they're made of light & hair. (I think you do this even when you don't title something "spirit," because you're ever looking for the spirit in the animal, no matter what the title or context.) The hues you've combed through the photos are beautiful. The facial expressions are true felines at rest (when we studied art anatomy, we were reminded again & again that all felines—huge to small—all share the same traits). And your grasses & branches around them harmonize with them texturally and hue-wise. And of course they sit in front of a big spirit of lion-eyes. We once asked why Rembrandt's older & mature face seemed so 'peaceful': Someone said, "because he acquired the face of a lion". Beautiful work & spirit, and the light is fine as always...
