Description

This is a huge image, please view full size. The deity Enki first came into being in the ancient Sumerian city of Eridu; the first city in the world. Enki was the chief deity of Eridu. His city was located near the mouth of the Euphrates River, on the Persian Gulf. Enki was Eridu's God of wisdom, creation, and water. Later on, he became Ea, and was more associated with the earth than the water. But since the people of Eridu lived in an area that was mostly a coastal wetland, it seems fitting that their chief diety would be of both water and earth. The two deities Enki, prime god of the Sumerian city Eridu, and Inanna (Ishtar) the major deity of the city Uruk were featured in several mythological tales. Some suggest that Enki's involvement with the goddess Inanna is real political history being recorded through legend. Although actual records of the two cities' political actions are scarce, one can infer some political history from the context of the legends in which the deities are featured. Enki is sometimes referred to as Inanna's empowerer, which leads some to believe that Eridu was the primary ally of Ishtar's city of Uruk. In the story of Ishtar in the Underworld, Ishtar is captured by her sister, Ereshkigal. When her vizier, Ninshubur, trys to get help from the gods Anu and Enli she is spurned. But when she approaches Enki, he immediately sends his vizier Isimud to rescue Ishtar. This has been interpreted as the city of Eridu coming to the aid of Uruk in a time of dark trouble. Enki was the supreme deity of intelligence, creation, wisdom, and magic, at least to those within the city of Eridu. Because of Eridu's age and size, Enki was a well-respected deity throughout the lands of Sumer. One of Enki's major gifts was that he was the keeper of holy powers, called "Me," known as the gifts of civilization. Enki was also known as The Lord of "a', which is semen. After a sacred marriage between Enki and the Mother Earth Goddess, Enki is said to have stood in the river beds, and filled them with his "water." Thus, he began the creation of all things by symbolically copulating with the earth. Poor Enki. For now Enki has to stay as my own M3 character, although he has been upgraded with Faceoff's Unimesh realism kit which has helped a lot. Why M3? Because I cannot find any clothes for him! I need clothes something like these, not overtly Pharonic and not overtly Arabic. Also, no armor, because Enki distanced himself from warfare. There is a $15.00 RMP gift certificate for anyone who can find a set of M4 clothes from any site that I find acceptable for Enki. You can post your suggestions by ebot or post it in comments. Simon by Illkiilerich here at RMP will then become my Enki. Or maybe I should just keep this M3! Ishtar is next and then we will start the story. Previous in this series

Unique character. Love the outfit. I can see your dilemma. Not sure what to recommend but I'll keep my eyes out for something. (Xurge3D has some interesting outfits for M4.) Anyway, great expression - very fierce and intense. Excellent lighting. Nicely pose and cool watery like effects. Very nice!

I like this character as he is Roxy. You have really given him the aged wisdom look andthe clothing isn't completely Arabic or Pharonic as you put it. Other than the fact that we have all pretty much gotten used to the more realistic posing of the gen 4 models the Gen 3 models seem stiff but you have proven they are sill just as good as the new kids on the block! i wouldn't change anything on this character Roxy, he is a great piece of work and I am looking forward to seeing this story unfold!
