Description

This is a little side promo for a render project series I've been working on and off on for quite a while now, as my limited spare time permits. Since this subject will be part of the render project, albeit as a background character, his details are lost in the field of view. So I figured might as well do up a small side piece as the parent project isn't done yet. (I also wanted to upload something, as I don't upload very often these days). So, just a few camera shots and renders, put together in photoshop. :edit: Side note - Theres also a little known independent film produced by and starring Dennis Hopper, titled "Space Truckers". Real fun cheesy B-film, featuring a villain, space pirates, waitress in a space diner, a trucker and his sidekick, killer robots, and a cargo of square pigs. Thats part of the inspiration for this ol' trucker character render. Btw, I'm totally loving this DR66cxc dropship by Koal, its looking wonderful in the renders within Carrara. I'm starting to love the 3ds models offered here at Renderosity more and more. Sure, they don't have the built in rigging as poser ready items, but in Carrara, 3ds format is flexible enough to set axis and parent the parts, or as needed, add some bone rigging where needed. Also, its how the 3ds format handles textures and zoning, the model only loads 1 instance of each texture regardless of how many parts the model has. What I'm loving about this dropship is its worn and rugged appearance. Some cleaner texture sets would be nice, but I'm happy with it the way it is. More importantly, both its design and appearance fits exactly what I need in my render. For those of you that don't care much for the Highway Junkie tune, or country in general, my apologies. I'm not much into country either, but trucking, truckers and cargo is one of the many motifs this project carries. And its going to be getting alot wilder from here, so you can't say I didn't warn you :) Additional credits: David 3, Head and Body morphs, Simply Cool for D3, Outrider for D3, and my own custom Carrara shaders for the outfit textures. Thankyou for viewing. Comments, constructive criticism and opinions are always and especially welcome.
