Description
I like the contrast between these two couples in the public garden near my home. One adds hand talking to words, the other is non-verbally communicating.
As I said yesterday, these conversations make me remember The Conversation. A film influenced by it was the successful, action packed movie Enemy of The State, which starred Hackman and Will Smith. Enemy of the State is a 1998 spy film directed by Tony Scott about a group of rogue NSA agents. A successful lawyer finds himself the target of a treacherous NSA official and his goons after receiving evidence to a politically motivated murder, the only man that can help him is a former government operative turned surveillance expert. As the movie opens, the legislature is close to passing legislation to expand surveillance powers of law enforcement agencies. Republican Congressman Phil Hammersly (Jason Robards, uncredited) is trying to stop the bill because he believes it is an invasion of privacy, while Thomas Reynolds (Jon Voight) is trying to push the bill through to confront growing terrorist threats against the U.S.--and advance his own career.
Here in Italy wiretapping is widespread and commonplace. It's also common to read the conversations on the papers, even the parts of those who have nothing to do with the investigation. Many decades ago people were paranoid about that, but now they look anesthetized. I remember some friends of mine who used to interrupt a phone conversation abruptly and state: 'Officer, don't listen to us, but worry about your wife who's cuckolding you', and then went on with the conversation. The first time one was shocked, but then it was fun, to act as if we were wiretapped.
Thank you for your kind comments.

It looks as if the man on the right is more interested in the couple behind than the animated talker. :) It's a great shot.

An excellent photo! You have access to some very beautiful settings! I like the contrast between the two couples, representing the various stages of love! Reserved, but observive as complared to openly enthusiastic and passionate! Yes, we poor slobs here in the US don't know what is happening to us anymore! We are only too happy to follow the lemmings ahead of us as we run blissfully towards the cliffs. The saying is true, if you won't fight for your freedoms, you are no longer free. In my own humble opinion, I fear most americans have given up.

There definitely seems to be a disconnect between the couple on the right, and none at all with the couple on the left. Lovely contrast!
