Description
This couple rests at the Memory and Light Memorial of the Twin Towers, built by the American architect Daniel Liebeskind. In September 2002, one of the 150 steel beams salvaged from the debris of the World Trade Center, appears at the Eighth Edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale as a gift officially bestowed from the US to the Italian People. On February 27, 2003, Libeskind won the competition to be the master plan architect for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan after the terrorist attacks on September 11,2001.
The monument Memory and Light is located in the central area of the city, near the Scrovegni Chapel, and it was dedicated on September 11,2005. It is about 200 metres from my home, on a bank of the Bacchiglione river. I post it today, and also tomorrow, from another POV, because on 9/11 we (Flavia and me) are going to Rome for some days, and I don't know whether I will be able to keep in touch.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Very timely and well done. Have a great time in Rome. I haven't thought much about the city on seven hills since the painful two years of Latin that I took during my first two years in high school. But then I was much more interested in girls then in my studies:)))
