Description

A change of style ... from the modern to the traditional. This is one of the few surviving 'pallozas' - traditional thatched houses of O Cebreiro, Galicia, Spain. Managed to catch this view in the early morning as the cloud lifted. When I arrived the previous day (end of May!) it was freezing cold with thick mist and I couldn't see more than a couple of feet in front of me! Did manage to make it to a taverna where I had a strange night talking German to a guy from Poland, and tanslating into English for a Korean Priest and a guy from Australia - while warming ourselves by a log fire with beer, wine and caldo galego (a traditional Galician soup with cabbage, potatoes ....) Ha ... the memories of travel !! Cheers Moz.

Very interesting photo, I'm fascinated by the construction of this place. The history behind the people who built these must be very interesting.

Love your narrative! This is a really cozy looking building, but, like in your caves etc, I should get too shut in inside it!
