Description

They have come. The pods are increasing in numbers and growing in size. I've seen the movie, Daves seen the movie, but do they have to replace humans? I have noticed a decrease in singing from the birds. They just fly around and look at you really strange. The squirrels don't play with their nuts anymore. They just sit at the bottom of the stairs staring drone like at the door. When the cats are in the window they sit and hiss at them, all of them. They hiss at the birds, squirrels and especially the pods. At night they seem nervous, as if a great predator is roaming the neighborhood. They pace the edges of the bed. What horrors lie behind these pods? Have they come to take over the animal kingdom? Are they in your neighborhood? Lock up your pets. Keep a close eye on the behavior of the area wildlife. Most of all watch for these pods to appear and become abundant. They assimilate milkweed. I am having a good day. I even felt a bit playful. Thank you for looking. Thank you for all those prayers, love, and positive vibes. Love and peace, Cheri

I've been wondering about these strange things growing in our yard. It seems that only the squirrels in our yard are so far thus affected, the ones in the park across the street still play with their nuts! ( I can't believe she worded it like that!) We had a toad hanging around too, even he's gone, perhaps it just croaked, but things are so very different around here,..even the owls don't give a hoot anymore. Okay I'll stop, this was just so easy to get carried away with. I like your pods sweetie,....in fact I've always liked your pods! They are very specia,....alright, sorry!

Super POV, clarity, lighting and textural effects in this shot, young lady! I have three different versions of the movie in my vast DVD collection, Cheri, but not the original 1950s version, which was probably one of the best sci-fi films made. Just don't fall asleep and you should be okay and have nothing to worry about.

Did not watch the movie and I have been told that is a good thing. Marvelous story and image indeed! I love millyweeds myself. I love seeing them after they have popped open and exposing the beautiful seeds. I do not know why they call them weeds. I think the foliage and smell are wonderful when they bloom. Well done!

I haven't actually noticed the squirrels playing with their nuts. :| They mostly run around like crazy critters in these parts!

LOL Very funny and well written! Great capture of the sinister pods! (Maybe the squirrels have just found girlfriends. That might explain their drone like stare too.) Thanks for the laugh!

I remember the B&W movie and the remake in color. Totally awesome! Enjoyed your narrative. Are those pods "milk weed". Seem to remember something like that as a kid and it popped open and silky white things fell out with seeds attached. Dave's comments are always funny and very welcome. Dana

This is priceless...these do resemble the pods in the classic version of the movie. It's odd, that's the only movie to be remade multiple times though I prefer the original and the remake starring Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy...great moody music in that and the pod people made that wonderful screech! Anyway, aside from all of that, I love this shot. It brings back memories...I always associate milkweed pods with woodlice since there was an abundance of both back in the days when I'd visit my grandparents. I love this for multiple reasons. The narrative was quite a wonderful read as well. This is superb on all counts! Now, when I think of that movie, I think of these pods, but instead of "science fictionalized communists" bursting out, I imagine that corporate PR reps and Account managers will come bursting forth to dominate the world and stamp out all vestiges of non-corporate thinking.
