Once upon a time as most stories go, there lived a rather usual gnome. Forsaken by his village for his abundance of height, or truth be told he was chased off because he didn't fit into the perfect gnome guidelines. He simply was far too tall. Upon his banishment he traveled far from his home to a place that harbored very few beings. His travels were long and hard, but that's another story to be told at a later date..indeed. So this gnome took residents in an old tree that stuck out like a sore thumb in a barren meadow. The tree looked almost like a cave out in the middle of nowhere. The tree gracefully allow that rather tall gnome to live within her own body providing safety and security. The gnome lived there for around a thousand years or it is so told. This old gnome had a wonderful hobby, for it was a violin he made long ago from a branch that was snatched from his tree home by a bad tempered storm. He became quite good at playing throughout the years. More of that about that will be told on another day. Upon one cloudy day as seasons were beginning to change from summer to fall, as seasons will; a shadow harbored over the odd gnome as he played. The silly gnome didn't notice how odd that shadow seemed as he got lost within his music, as he always did. There was a thunderous thump and there stood before the old gnome man a huge dragon that looked fierce and hungry. The silly old gnome continued to play that violin, for he figured the huge beast could eat him if it so chose, for it got awful lonely just talking to the tree for a thousand years. The giant beast tilted its head then plopped down as only dragons can. Upon the dragon's back rested a Fae child with her small companion of odd description. The gnome simply ignored his terrible fear and continued playing. Unknown to the old man gnome the child was blind and was drawn to the music that sang from the violin. The dragon slowly rested his head as the music lulled him into waken dreams. The Fae child sat with a smile as that music gave her visions within her head. For years the child didn't know much of the world, but the wind that grazed over her face as she flew on her dragon and the feel of grass on her feet as she walked in her lonely world. These visions were breathe taking as she could see the blue skies with birds flying about. She saw the green of tree leaves, and the purple hues of mountains. As that old man played her mind was filled with visions most beings take for granted, and she found them all a miracle. The odd gnome man, the dragon, the indescribable companion to the child, and the Fae born without sight spent the day upon the barren meadow. All shared problems but became fast friends from different worlds they were born, but fate had plans for these oddities...indeed.
