Description
Well, not a real ghost, although quite a spirit.
This is a 30 second nighttime exposure taken last July of Julia (Lil Sizzler) standing next to the Intercoastal Waterway at Navarre Beach, Florida.
For the first 15 seconds she was standing as you see here. Then at my signal she ran as fast as she could out of the shot, and the second 15 seconds burned in without her.
In the brighter lit background areas the 15 seconds without her burned in a strong image thus giving her a transparent look. The darker background areas were overwhelmed by the 15 seconds when she stood in stronger light, so those areas, her top half, are more opaque.
Actually I was amazed it came out as well as it did since this was the last shot of the evening, around 2am if memory serves me well, and we were feeling no pain. Fortunately we're on the grounds of our hotel which was right on the sound, so all we had to do was gather our cameras and cooler and find our way back to our room.
That evening I also took a nighttime shot looking across the water at Navarre Beach from this same location. It's quite a pretty view and can be seen Right Here!
Thanks for the look, and check out the link up top to Julia's gallery.
