Description

Several of our members are about to travel to Chicago, so I thought I'd add another view including more urban/cityscape for their viewing pleasure:) The center of this photo shows the University of Illinois, Chicago campus. This is the scene looking from the top of the Sears Tower toward the southwest. Roger (Buffalo1) travelled to Chicago with Rob (debbielove) and I in early June. It just so happens that this is Roger's Alma Mater. For those of you that know Chicago, Midway Airport is also shown in the extreme upper left hand corner of this photo. Please ZOOM for detail...I've left this big. Bill:) P.S. You've got to love the artistic interchange in the lower right hand corner that connects the Dan Ryan Expressway (north-South) to the Eisenhower Expressway (East-West). Traffic is light since it is early afternoon in this photo.

Someone had fun with a 3D package creating that interchange - if CAD packages were around when it was conceived. Great view, Bill! Cheers, Clive

It's a beautiful capture of the old school and surrounding area, Bill. Thanks so much for the dedication, and congrats on the "Model Railroad" photo making LWITG!

Superlative POV, DOF and textures in this acrophobic shot from atop the Sears Tower, Bill. Looks like some gigantic electronic circuit board stretching out like that.

You should try that in slush hour.....oops I mean rush hour..... no it's more like slush hour. Bumper to bumper, people constantly cutting you off when you are moving. horns blaring, brakes screeching, cus words flying among cars. Mostly coming from ours...oops did I say that. We had to go through there on the way back from Florida. One of Dave's favorite routes.....not. LOL Great shot Bill.

Great capture! I am thinking of the engineers as they plot out all those knots of highways to get everyone off in the direction they want to go.
